ISLAMABAD: The verified coronavirus cases in Pakistan has approached 1,865, according to the National Command and Control Centre.
According to the statement, there are 652 cases in Punjab, 625 in Sindh, 221 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 153 in Balochistan, 58 in Islamabad, 148 in Gilgit Baltistan and six cases in Azad Kashmir.
The number of patients saved from the virus holds at 57, whereas 25 Pakistanis wasted their lives, and 11 persist critical in several hospitals, according to the public dashboard.
61 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were identified in Sindh on Tuesday morning. Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho said so far 294 cases of COVID-19 have been tested positive in Karachi, with 45 new cases. 57 in Hyderabad and two cases were reported in Jamshoro and one in Jacobabad.
The minister said out of 627 cases, 41 have fully revived and freed from the hospitals.
The province has managed a total of 5,945 tests.
District South of the Sindh capital Karachi was influenced most by the virus as at least 56 patients tested positive for COVID-19. Most of the cases were recorded in the Civil Lines area of the community.
30 out of 56 patients have travel records, whereas 26 cases were locally spread, and six persons have retrieved from the virus. Moreover, five cases each have appeared in Garden and Sadar areas and one in Aram Bagh.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan declared the demonstration of youth force and public funds during his address to the nation to fight coronavirus pandemic crosswise Pakistan.
PM Imran Khan told the world is battling a war toward coronavirus pandemic, and Pakistan is also continuing the spread of the virus by appropriating all possible sources.
PM Khan said Corona Relief Tiger Force will be formed of young doctors, drivers, and people from any field which would be utilized to provide food and necessary materials to the areas likely to face lockdown. The force will also lead people to self-isolation inside their houses.
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood on Monday announced that the Coronavirus Relief Tiger Force was not meant to improve PTI activists sooner. It is a force for Pakistan.
“We will be building an online portal for enrollment of missionaries, and anyone from across the country could get registered with the force using it,”
The federal minister also declined that the cash allowance among needy families would be carried out by lawgivers and said that it would be carried out by local administration.
While denying the option of country-wide lockdown, Shafqat Mahmood said that a lockdown was not desirable in a country where 50 percent of the population is stripped of essential food items.
It is relevant to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday chaired a conference to achieve a mechanism to be selected for ‘Coronavirus Relief Tiger Force’- a volunteer program aimed at carrying out activities at the time of the pandemic.
The premier chairing a consultative gathering visited by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar, PM’s Principal Secretary Azam Khan, Shahzad Akber, and others.
The meeting devised a tool for recruitment in the tiger force and the functions they had to give out while offering their services.
Usman Dar was given stability on the matter while the prime minister would enter a special message for the volunteers.
The meeting decided that fit youths growing above 18 years could register themselves for the force and would take part in managing affairs at the quarantine centers in urban and rural areas of the country.
“They will also take care of victims hospitalized at their homes along with providing guidelines to the masses in hospitals and public places,” the meeting decided alongside the tigers would also collect data concerning suspected patients and unemployed people in their respective area of responsibility.
The volunteers will also support the police and local government in achieving lockdown and would even recognize hoarders and those walking property prices.
PTI stalwart, Usman Dar has started work on the project, in the first phase volunteers will be urged to register for the stately cause via the citizen’s portal application
Applications will be satisfied until April 10, and the registration process will begin from March 31.
The force will be tasked to offer relaxation works during a complete lockdown condition in various parts of the country.
The young missionaries will be tasked with getting essential materials and food items to several households across the country until the continuation of the required lockdowns.
The volunteers will also be permitted to record anyone keeping necessary items or profiteering from them.
The data collected through the exercise will consistently be shared with related deputy commissioners of the districts where the tasks will be performed.
The volunteer force will also work as make-shift security and diligence team at quarantine centers in the country to ensure all safety standards and precautionary measures are taken and upheld.
The volunteers who step forth will be inducted without governmental preferences, or leanings said Usman Dar and expressed hope that like the youth of the country has stepped up in the past against natural calamities, this time to they would step up and present during times of great duress.
Usman Dar also said that this is a general duty, and everyone must comply and put their best foot ahead to help and play their part.
